In 1977 an idea was born - to make urology care available to all, under one roof. Under the able guidance of Dr Sharad Bapat & Dr Mrs. Vimal Bapat, a clinic was started as a center offering dedicated urological services. With a hand-full of dedicated staff & basic lower tract endoscopy equipment, a beginning was made. The clinic has kept pace with the rapidly changing times & has added the latest endoscopic, radiological, ultrasonic & urodynamic equipments. A team of dedicated urologists, radiologists, anaesthesiologists & vascular surgeon ensure the highest standards in urology care.

The urology team is lead by Dr S.D.Bapat, one of the senior urologists of India. He has been the past president of Urological Society of India in 1997 as well as the past president of West zone chapter of Urological Society of India & Mumbai Urology Society. He was awarded the prestigious Dr B.C.Roy award by Government of India in 1997. Known nation-wide as an astute clinician with experience of over 45 yrs, he ensures that the patients get nothing but the best. He is ably supported by his wife, Dr Mrs. Vimal Bapat, who is involved in every aspect of medical & non-medical decision making. He was joined by Dr Anita Patel in 1998. After being fully trained in urology in India, she acquired higher urological training in U.K. for 5 yrs & returned with an FRCS in urology, before joining Endoskopik Klinik.

Dr Pradeep Joshi & Dr B.S.Gharpure, have been associated with the clinic as an anaesthesiologists since its inception. The onsite radiological support is offered by Dr Gauri Amonkar & Dr Parag Amonkar. The vascular aspects of urological care are looked after by Dr Pankaj Patel.

The medical team is ably supported by highly dedicated secretarial & paramedical staff, who ensure that the experience by our patients is akin to home away from home.

Patients are offered clinical evaluation followed by ultrasonography (Siemens, Germany as well as Honda, Japan), and uroflowmetry (Status Medical, India) whenever required. In selected patients, urodynamic evaluation is carried out (Manuet Duet logic by Medtronic, U.K.). The clinic has full endoscopic (adult & pediatric) setup consisting of

Storz cystoscopes, uretero-renoscopes (rigid & flexible) & resectoscopes.
Wolf nephro-renoscopes & resectoscopes.
Storz nephroscope for Per Cutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL).
The operation theatre is equipped with

Meditronic Xray C-arm with IITV.
Storz ultrasonoic lithotripsy equipment &
Dornier Holmiun laser Medilas HS 20 for intracorporeal lithotripsy

Siemens Pulse oxymeter / cardiac monitor

BPL ECG unit

BPL defibrillator

Cape TC 50 Ventilator

All procedures are video recorded with impeccable data storage ensuring highest degree of transparency.

Apart from a highly sophisticated urodynamic setup, the clinic also offers comprehensive care for urinary incontinence at all age groups. Apart from medical treatment, pelvic floor therapy is offered with the help of Neocontrol Magnetic Chair.

In 2004, a series of urological camps were started as a novel initiative. With the help of local Rotarians/lions and pharma industry, the clinic has been running urology camps at remote places around Mumbai, where access to even basic medical care may not be available. Needless to say, these camps are entirely free for the patients & the services offered by the entire team of Endoskopik Klinik are voluntary. Apart from helping the needy, this has helped built a data base, which is so very essential from epidemiological point of view.

Today, 32 yrs after its inception, more than 20,000 patients stand as testimony to our dedication to urology.
